2000 Biltwel Duct Truck

  • New transmission
  • New clutch
  • New PTO (Muncie)
  • New compressor (Quincy 340)
  • New front tires
  • 72,500 miles (I bought it in 2010 with around 50,000 miles, so we didn’t use it a lot)
  • 60 gallon air tank

It was in the shop so long we transitioned to portable equipment and now we don’t want to go back to the truck. We put it in the shop because I thought the PTO was bad. When they started into it the mechanic found out the transmission was also bad and he recommended replacing the clutch while we had it broken down, which we did. After replacing all that he told me the compressor was not right, so we took it to a Quincy repair place and they recommended replacing it, which we did. So, $20,000 in repairs later, I’m selling it with new everything except the low miles engine.

The good:

  • New transmission
  • New clutch
  • New PTO (Muncie)
  • New compressor (Quincy 340)
  • New front tires
  • 72,500 miles (I bought it in 2010 with around 50,000 miles, so we didn’t use it a lot)
  • 60 gallon air tank
  • 15.5’ box
  • Diamond plating on box and no rust
  • Dual suction (either side or both)
  • Insulation removal option
  • Over 200’ of 10” Black Knight hose
  • Garaged most of its life
  • I don’t have service records but the oil was changed regularly with Rotella oil and fan bearings greased before each job
  • AC and heater work fine
  • The diesel engine has never had any problems

The Bad:

  • The hour meter and tachometer have never worked so I don’t know the machine hours and we just rev it up to the air flow we need.
  • The fuel gauge never worked and my mechanic said he would have to drop the tank but it is not accessible because of the cargo box so we just fill it up each time we use it.
  • Just noticed the right, rear, outside tire is worn. The other rears are good.
  • The side work lights and interior cargo lights don’t work
  • The cargo latches work but they are a little stubborn and I don’t have keys to lock them

The Ugly:

  • The upholstery is worn
  • It has small scratches here and there
